    Video Card Memory Requirement

    When a Graphics card requires, say 900 MB, is that only a requirement just to start it up, or does that mean that it will consume 900 MB as it's being used. Basically, if you had only one GB, and this is the case, than would you have only 100 MB available?

    No, that is how much memory is on the video card. Has nothing to do with the ram.

    Now your power supply might be to small for that card as some cards do draw up to about 200 watts by themselves.

    Where exactly are you finding the Graphics card requirement?
    Is this something on the card/box or from a game?
    ASUS K55N with W8.1 (64bit) and plenty of other legacy systems :-)
