Installshield not launching?
I am trying to install a program on my Vista Home Premium machine. The program is SunPAth - sun tracking software - that I purchased as a download a couple of years ago. I ran it on my old XP machine without problem.
It seems the setup.exe file of the program does not launch on my machine. I happen to know that it runs on a friends 64bit Vista machine, but not my 32bit system. Could it be the Installshield version (5.0.219)?
The software is from a very small company and I havent got much support from them.
Thanks for any help.

Are you double clicking on it and it does nothing or is the file on a cd and the AutoLaunch isn't working?
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Hi Steve,
I am double-clicking on the setup.exe file that is in a folder on my desktop.
Nick,
Already tried in various compatibility modes. No luck...

The software seems to run on top of an emulator according to their website Id assume it was incompatible with Vista but you say it runs on the 64bit version so its a bit of an odd one
Why use an emulator?
sunPATH was written as a Macintosh program. To quickly meet the demand of Filmmakers and Photographers with Windows PCs we decided to use the emulator to port sunPATH over to a Windows based system. We are currently working on the next version of sunPATH which will run as a native Windows program. (Release date unknown, join our mailing list and you will be notified)

Thanks for your help.
The update is to version 1.4 which I already have.
I know the official company position is that Vista is not supported, but as I mentioned, I've seen it run on a Vista machine.
So, yes, it is an odd one...
