ANY SOFTWARE THAT CAN MINIMIZE THE FILE SIZE ?

sir,

my friend is a mechinical engineer. he use to make maps for different real estate projects. all the maps that he made, have 5 mb file size . some times the file size exceeds to 7 to 10 mb. he had to upload these maps on the company official website.

but there is a problem that :- the website shows 4 mb file size upload limit.

my friend use to overcome the file size by reducing the resolution using photoshop. he avoid using colors and he didn't use the company logo ( flash animation)in the file. he just wrote company name and his name as simple text . he also tries winzip but the file size still remains 4 mb + .

so, is there any software that can minimizes thefile size.

Winzip has option to control amount/level of compression.

He can use Photoshop to export to GIF which should dramatically reduce the size.

Which host is the comapny using why dont they have file space availalbe?

They could also use off site storage and just provide linkls on the website.
