Warm reboot = Use the operating system to reboot (restart) the computer.

Cold reboot = Complete power down (Off), (wait a few seconds), then power back up using the computer's On button.

Syntax, not synthax = more, or less "command"

In the non-computer world, the word "syntax" means:
The grammatical arrangement of words in sentences
In the computer world, "syntax" means:
The rules for the construction of a command or statement

    nah ...

i'm referring to a general idea on ways how to used the warm-reset/cold-reset.

however, this is in relation to my other post about a switch in which its username and password has long been forgotten. the worse thing is that it has no more warranty since the unit has long been out also in the market.

likewise, no reset button can be found inside and hardcopy of its manual is missing too

if their are way to reset its username and password by not using either the warm-reset/cold-reset ... so what are they?

any 3rd party software will do as long it is safe

    cheers!

    hello Train

i was trying to reset the username and password of an Intel Express 10/100 Fast Ethernet Switch

actually, if u can follow the link that was posted by SpywareDr ... u can immedaitely noticed that i'm almost dying to achieved or that by hook or by crook i can reset the said equipment

in fact, i was disappointed with intel that they can assist me when i also posted in their web that they only told me that the said unit has already been left to the end-user if ever any problems will arise from it

thats why i hope that warm and cold reset will be thoroughly discussed knowing that theirs NO reset button inside of the said equipment

    cheers!
