    Color 35mm Slides to DVD

    Hi,
I came into a few dozen color slides from maybe 15 years ago. They are well preserved. Is there any way I could scan them, save them as a Jpg, edit, crop, then burn them to a DVD to view? I have an EPSON 2400 Perfection Scanner, I have tried to scan some slides, but nothing works.

is there any other software I will need to purchase? I know there are services available, but trying to save money to put in the old gas tank if you catch my drift. Thank you for any help.

    You have the film tray?
And you need to use the professional mode.

Sorry aslo forgot, in the lid, you have to remove the cover for the light, so when you select film in professional mode, the light will work. Yes there is a light in the lid.

You would be better off to save as TIFF. Every time you save a JPEG you will lose quality.

    Very, very true.
And after you get them scanned in, burn them to a couple data cd/dvds for safe keeping and so you do not have to go through the whole scanning business again. Once is enough!
