[32] Windows update error code 80080005.?
Hi
I have a cousin in Ca, and he is getting Windows update error code 80080005,
and can not get windows updates at all,.
Presently i don't have specs on his system except vista home premium, and i don't know if he has xp on it also. He is runnning ubuntu on "a separate pc".
So far microsoft has not answered him with a solution, i just found it out a few minutes ago, and i see on google there are several issues with that.
When i get ram hdds i'll advise unless you know something relevant?
He did build it himself.

Hey Peter,
Did you log in as the administrator? Go to Local Users (Right click on My computer -> Manage -> local users and groups ) then right click on the user named "Administrator" -> Set password -> then click on Administrator and enable the user" ... now restart your computer and log in with administrator ...
no do what my prevoious reply says::
1) Disable UAC (Control Panel -> User Accounts)
2) Restart your computer
3a) Download Windows update agent (Save it dont run it) even if its already there on your computer
x86:
http://download.windowsupdate.com/v7...gent30-x86.exe
x64:
http://download.windowsupdate.com/v7...gent30-x64.exe
3 b) Then go the folder you saved it .. Right click and Run it as administrator.
3 c) After the install is complete ... restart your computer ... and everything should work like a charm
You can now turn back UAC if you want and then restart your computer again
