Logo for file formats
Don't know if this question belongs here. anyway, at some point when I started saving web pages (html) and web images (gif) in mydocuments, the logo symbol changed from IE to opera (the slanted O). I'm not in a tizzy about it, but how do I get the file logos to save with the IE symbol?

The Windows Explorer (My Documents) file icon is dictated by the file association. If Opera is your default browser, it is registered in Windows as the application associated with webpage file formats.
Change your default browser back to Internet Explorer, the icons will change, but personally I'd rather have my files associated with Opera if i were you .

On the money.
Sal_gal, the reason it's got an Opera icon is you have made an informed (I hope) choice at some point to make Opera your default browser.
As an Opera user myself, I congratulate you for that. Same goes for anyone who uses FireFox. The only time I fire up IE is when a website I have to look at is coded as IE-only.
If it's a site I have a curiosity about but no burning need to see, I will simply boycott the poor web-design that tries to force me to use a crap browser and not visit their site at all.

You can always just change the icon to whatever you want while retaining the file association.
I only have win98 so it may be different for your OS, but I can open windows explorer - view folder options - file types - Html document - edit - change icon and then browse for whatever icon I wish to associate with that file type and then repeat the process for gif..
