startup faster?
Any way of starting a computer faster? The only thing running "extra" is my Macafee yet it takes a full 3 minutes for my computer to completely power up.
Is that normal? I remember in my last job as soon as you turned it on you waited maybe 30 seconds?

That pretty much sums it up, McAffe is bloated crappy software & I would not have it on my PC if they paid me. That being said I would get rid of McAffee & get a good free Anti virus like AntiVir. Go to the link below for a good McAffee un-installer first. Good Luck. BJ

That sounds about right for a machine burdened with McAfee. You may have it configured to do a full system scan at startup, which isn't really necessary. It also depends on your CPU and the amount of RAM you have; even the mobo's FSB is a factor. Check your Startup folder for shortcuts to programs that aren't necessary at startup; they can be deleted.
