[98] CD restarts PC?
I have a compaq Deskpro PIII 600Mhz with Win98SE. Sunndely when I put any CD in either the CD-ROM or the CD Burner mu PC automatically tries to restart. It started doing it on both at the same time. I have checked connections and cables. What else do I need need to check on or have you ever heard of this problem? Thanks in advance!

Hi oldtimer, go into the device manager & remove both drives, reboot & let windows re-detect them & install a new set of drivers for them, drivers may have gotten corrupted. BJ

It's also possible that the power supply is starting to fail, and that the added electrical load of the CD drives is causing the Power_Good signal to go low, which always causes a reboot.
Nick.
