Cybersitter
Has anyone used cybersitter? Do you recommend it? Pros, cons? Anything you want to tell would help. Perhaps you recommend some other software? Thanks

Hi,
Used it for many years until our daughter grew up enough.
Problems
None, well if you count not being able to get to the Harry Potter web site because of the banned word "Wizard", only one problem.
Load cries of protest starting with DAD!!!
Simple solution was to add site to trusted sites list
Ugradeable banned sites and words lists
Can even control Internet Access times
Costs less than a baby or child sitter for an evening out and lasts for years.
She didn't get to one site my wife and I would not have permitted in years of use.
Had to suspend program temporarily to allow some google searches for school work google search results sites had any banned words etc.
I still threaten to re-install it to control th etime she spends on line, using my bandwidth.

Interesting. I'm trying to figure out why "wizard" would be banned. Chat sites is really my biggest concern. We all know some of the kind of people patrolling those sites. I guess you say this would work for me? Thanks

Hi,
The word wizard heads towards things like the occult.
An area no parent would want their child exploring
The program stopped access to anything about guns & knives as well. Tatoo's and various other unpleasant sites & words were also blocked.
The area about Messaging sites may be the sort of thing you are seeking.
Cybersitter is available as a trial version
http://www.cybersitter.com/predl.htm
Program oversiew etc.
http://www.cybersitter.com/cybinfo.htm
When you register, you get the code to use the program beyond the trial period.
