memory advice?
Hello guys and girls. I was wondering if any of you have heard of Mitsubishi memory? Is it any good? Does it matter what brand it is? Ive looked up the specs on what I need which is DIMM SDRAM PC100 CL2 168 pin. I'm not real unhappy with my system performance but even after a fresh boot my resources are at about 77%. After running and with things open its in the 50s. Do you think I really need to add some? I know thats a few questions and I welcome all opinions. Thanks in advance.

System resources and Memory are two different things....But getting more than 128 should would help.

Ok Steve Thanks for the links on resources. I was not aware the two weren't directly related. Maybe I don't really need more memory. Like I said I am not totally unhappy with my system performance. Would I really notice any difference if I added more RAM? I don't really have much problems now with multiple windows open.
I still have questions as far as memory itself. My mothers computer only has 64 mb and it is an athlon 650. It seems a bit slow. So the questions that still remain are.
1. Has any of you have heard of Mitsubishi memory?
2. Is it any good?
3. Does it matter what brand it is?

Once again Steve thanks for the help. Anybody with opinions or experiences to warn me about?

Mitsubishi "is" a brand.
Do you mean does the "type/model" of Mitsubishi memory matter?

Yes I realize its the brand. What I'm trying to say is some people say buy crucial, some say buy Kingston etc. I'm trying to ask if Mitsubishi is just as good or is it an inferior memory product. Maybe a few people have had good or bad luck with that brand. Maybe it doesn't make a bit of difference I'm not sure. That's kinda what I'm getting at.

Memory from Mitsibushi is fine. I wouldn't rate it as highly as say Crucial (my preference) or Kingston (a popular fav around here) or PNY (also very popular) but still reputable memory no matter how you cut it.

As far as I know Mitsubishi makes (or made, I think their dram business was bought out) dram chips, which are then used on the dram sticks of other companies. They don't make actual dram modules/sticks. Companies like PNY, Kingston, Crucial, etc. then sell dram modules/sticks which use the chips made by companies like Mitsubishi (Crucial uses mostly chips from its own parent Micron).
Mitsubishi is (or was) a pretty major player. Dram using their chips should be just fine.
Please remember to post back whether your problem is resolved or
not, so that others may gain from the knowledge.
