How Do I Stop Security Alert Popups?
How can I stop getting "security alert, However there is a problem with the site security certificate" popups? They keep coming up when I visit certaiun web sites.
I want to "Do you want to proceed yes to all" or "dont show me this message again"
SOmetimes it says
The security certificate is expired or is not yet valid. How do I find the certificate, delete it and where do I get another? I tried installing a certificate and the popup still happens.
Sometimes it says
The certificate is not trusted. View it to see if you want to trust it.
How do I start trusting it when I might not have trusted it in the past?
Thanks.
Using Win 98 SE2, Internet Explorer 5 (5.00.2614.3500IC cypher strengh 40), Pentium II 266 MHz, 64 MB RAM, Prodigy, dialup.

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced
(in XP, I'm assuming it's similar in Win 98)
All of your security settings for "Certificates" and "Signatures" are at the bottom of the list.

This is a long read but what are we here for except to learn,
help, and have fun?

It looks more involved than it really is once you know what keywords refer to.
Good luck. (The Sunshine State)

"Still don't work"
I tried the suggestions in both of the replies and the security alert popups still appear. (Actually I am not sure what entries in the advanced list, like "Use CCL 1.0" or something like that should be set to: checked or not checked.
I set the security for Internet and Trusted Sites to Low.
The popups usually say something like>
The security certificate was issued by a company you have not chosen to trust...
Any ideas on how to do a "trust all" or "don't show me this message again"?

You need to go to Tools>Internet Options>Security>Custom Level and check out the ActiveX boxes if you want more security than the Default settings.
You can stop the popups by allowing ActiveX controls to be downloaded and enabled. If you do that your machine will get torn to shreds in no time. The safest thing is to question the damn things and unless they are from true blue outfits like MS, Symantec and so on then simply don't allow them in.
Having a pucker certificate is no guarantee of safety either - it just means that you may get stabbed by someone wearing a uniform.
Some of the members here woudn't touch IE with barge pole - you don't get this situation with Mozilla and Opera. Opera has specifically said they will never entertain ActiveX. They won't even entertain Vbscript. Mind you a lot of folk won't entertain Opera so that is rendered academic.
For a quiet life Mozilla is probably the best bet but I still prefer IE even if it is the most sociable browser.
"I set the security for Internet and Trusted Sites to Low."
Don't go below the default settings - you are asking for trouble and you will get it.
