If it is of any help, in Win98 it is in C:\Windows\System.ini under [386Enh] . Item is MinSPs= "whatever even number you want".
I usually access that by runnig Sysedit to get to System Configuration Editor.

Found it and copied/pasted "MinSPs=20" underneath it. Do I have to re-boot for it to take effect? Pete

StevenPeterYevchak--You do have to click File|Save after making the change. Don't know about rebooting. Probably not, but it seldom hurts.
20 is high for Win98, but do not know for WinXP. I use 8. No messages since I increased to that.
Here is what Google produced when I searched for "stack pages" WinXP
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...=Google+Search
For just "stack pages" I got
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...stack+pages%22

Thanks, Welshjim. Got it done and it "took".
Now to see whether it effects things for the better. Pete
