I would try a different set of speakers if possible. A worn out speaker plug could be the culprit.

Did you that when looking at the list of FONTS, you can for example type the letter N and you'll be transported in time right to where the N fonts begin.

For grins, create a new folder like C:\TEMP and move/copy some of the files there. Now try and open them. Did the warning go away?
