I spoke too soon. I tried watching some videos in VLC (not even fullscrenn mode)encoded in h.264 as well as an AVI and it crashed my machine both times

I finally got Ubuntu (32 bit) to boot into a live cd and a streaming DivX file loaded and played fine fullscreen.
I tried your suggestion before that and it didnt work :(

So I got some of that Crucial RAM that you reccommeded that is 100% guarnteed to work. It solved the beeping issue (yay!) but alas, the video problem still persists.

Alright, good to know. I went to the crucial webbsite and found RAM that is guarnteed compatible :D Hopefully that will fix my grpahics prob as well.

Its all one brand though (A-DATA) but they were not mentioned in the tested RAM for my motherboard...prob should have checked. Oh well, its my first time, now I know :)

Alright, so here is what I did. First, I tried resetting the CMOS, nothing changed. Next, I tried reseating all the RAM at once. Still the 3 beeps. Finally, I reseated the RAM one stick at a time...

So I just finished the bench test and still no go. I also tried swapping the 4 sticks of RAM into the primary RAM slot.

I have tried it on a monitor I know works to no avail. How would I clear the CMOS?

Are you sure its a compatability problem? I checked all of the specs on the A-DATA RAM and they all seemed to line up fine.
It seems that almost all the RAM listed on that page come in small...
