Anyone ever heard of this program...?

It transfers programs and data from one PC to another across different Windows versions too.

I've never heard of it. My brother is asking me about it because his wife has bought a new PC.
BestBuy recommended it to them.

I told him I'd do manual installs of programs and transfer things like bookmarks and password files manually and/or from the cloud if they have them stored there and to move media files to an external drive for storage or later transfer.

It also seems kind of expensive at over 100 dollars. Googling online reviews seem mostly positive if they're all legit.

In theory, information about Registry Entries are stored within the install..... it's hard to imagine gathering that info for all the programs.

Same goes for files that are in various Windows folders and the need to register them.

I'd be a lot skeptical.

I have used PC Mover in the past for transferring software when the original install files were not available. It worked, but some settings had to be manually updated. Installing using the original install files would be the preferred way to go, if they are available. I have not tried zinstall.
