Los Angeles' full name is "El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Angeles de Porciuncula"(The Town of Our Lady the Queen of the Angeles of Porciuncula)
-
I use my "real" name here for some foolish reason but my nickname and use it at many sites is Hochie.....sort of a take off of my last name.....
-
It's part of my last name... which, as a few friends here know, is quite a bit longer and a bit of a mouthful.

I got mine from the only thing I knew I would remember and that is my Old Dodge Ram W150...
Kinda got use to it and stuck with it everywhere.....

ZAMIEL (mine is spelled with a 1 [ONE] instead of an I)
I used to play Quake a lot on a server called quake.one.net
I was Tombstone...I was quite good...then people started leaving when I came in so I adopted ZAMIEL, another name for Satan in some myths...http://ecco.bsee.swin.edu.au/text/roget/entries/978.html
https://discussions.virtualdr.com/im.../2001/08/3.jpg
the finding that the name had more meanings, I stuck with it
Zamiel is an angel's name (Also from the Book of Enoch, Zamiel is the angel of hurricanes. He was fascinated with water when God created it and thus earned this rank. When he plays too enthusiastically he creates hurricanes.)
and a personality finding...As Zamiel, you have a natural interest in the welfare of your fellow man, and a desire to help and serve others in a humanitarian way. You are responsible and generous, although somewhat scattering and disorganized at times. Any jobs requiring systematic and conscientious effort, or involving any form of drudgery, dismay you. In your work, you would seek a position offering self-expression through contact with people, such as sales or teaching, or a position giving scope to your creative, artistic talents. You are good-natured and likeable, and people tend to confide in you and seek your advice in personal problems. Others sense your sincere interest and desire to help, and you can always be counted on to see the bright side of any problem. You enjoy making others happy and you never let your own problems "get you down" for any length of time, even though you do tend to worry too much at times. Your optimism can be a source of inspiration to others as well as yourself. In close personal relationships you are usually thoughtful and considerate. However, your natural interest in others, coupled with your sympathetic reaction to problems, could draw you into emotional situations which may be difficult to get out of. Health weakness would appear as skin conditions or ailments relative to the liver. A tendency to overeat quick-energy foods aggravates any health problems.
however, I simply stuck with it because the username 'zam1el' is never taken so that username is almost the same for any board I belong to...chances are if you see that username, it is me...
long post, I wonder who actually read it...

When I was young, my grandmother had a dog named Rowdy, due to his behavior and dispostion. I called him Rowdyboy, and we were best friedns till he died. While looking for a username that was (usually) not taken, I remembered Rowdy, and the archaic double entandre (sic?) suited me just right.
Besides, my real name is ALWAYS taken.

Had to get a "nick" to participate in these forums. It was late at night and I was eating a can of Herrings in Hot Louisiana sauce with some crackers. I thought of Cracker, but for obvious reasons I thought that was not a very good Username. So "Herring" it is.

Well.......My first name is Gail. I love to dance.....swing, 2 step......a little salsa.
My favorite dance is Hustle....which originated as a partner dance danced to disco music...........contemporary Hustle retains some of that flavor, as well as elements of swing & latin style.
Also......put "disco" in front of your name & it seems to be always available as a user name just about everywhere.

When I first bought my current computer, I was totally overwhelmed with all the new things to learn about my new hardware, software, using the Internet, etc. I wanted people to keep answers to my questions simple, as I was unfamiliar with much of the computer terminology others take for granted. What better way to communicate that than to let people think you are a total airhead?
I thought I would change my user name after I became more familiar with my equipment and software, but I've decided I like it. As a retired secondary and university educator, I felt a need to communicate an image of "the responsible one" all my working life. So it is fun to be able to be an airhead for a change.
Besides, I still need people to "keep it simple." And the moniker "Airhead" sounds better than "GettingSenile," doesn't it?
