I'm afraid the slowness is back.
It's been on and off for last few days.
Today I've been having problems with posting replies in malware removal forum.
My reply seems to loading forever.
I use http://discussions.virtualdr.com/search.php?do=getnew as my entry to VDr. That opens within one second but with a redirection message to the actual "Search Results" page.
http://discussions.virtualdr.com/sea...searchid=98197 today. The number at the end changes everyday so I cannot set it as a Favorite.
Getting to the latter as well as any messages within the Search Results page is still slow--not "forever" and not as long as several months ago, but still slow by my standards--maybe seven seconds.
It seems to be pretty intermittent.
Every day is an adventure;)
As you mentioned, if and when we take a performance hit, it's intermittent.
I've reported it several times but they can never pin-point it to anything in paticular.
I understand intermittent issues really suck :)
Something is going on.
RIGHT NOW is slow like molasses.
15 minutes ago I couldn't even get here.
No page loaded.
It lasted for about 10 minutes.
I hope my time detailed reports will help the owners to finally pinpoint the issue.
Couldn't get on for last 10 minutes again.
It took me 45 seconds to post one word reply.
Same problems again.
To load "New posts" or "Mark this forum read" pages takes several MINUTES with this error in between:
It took one minute to post a reply.Quote:
Database error The Virtual Dr Forums-Computer Tech Support database has encountered a problem.
I may be talking to a wall though...
Took 52 seconds to post the above.

I've reported the issue.... As mentioned above - intermitten problems are tough to solve... I haven't noticed any major perfrmance issues in a while.

After 60 sec of waiting for the above to post I got "error loading page".
I clicked on "Resend" and after another 30 seconds my one word reply loaded.
It's simply not acceptable.
I'm just trying to check malware removal forum once a day and post replies if possible but I simply can't work this way.
As far as I remeber all issue started in August with server move.
We're approaching Christmas and the prtoblem is still not solved.
I simply can't believe that with todays technology webmasters can't employ some tools which will pinpoint the issue
Not over 3 months period.
I'm sure this board is losing some potential new members because nobody want to use any forum which is slower than dial-up.
Personally my patience is running out.

Edit: took two seconds to post.

getting to vrdr at 6:30pm on wed timed out first time and then about 12 seconds on the reload.... time for this post to appear takes 9 seconds for it to appear so it's pretty inconsistent moment to moment.

Could access the board for last 90 minutes getting this:
Extremely slow right now.
https://discussions.virtualdr.com/im...p?type=dberror Database error The database has encountered a problem.
Same for me also.
And the rest of the error messages usually says "The discussions.virtualdr.com forum technical staff have been notified of the error." And an alert does get sent and read... The IT Manager just informed me that she's getting the db Admins involved... Stay tuned.
Good lord--as that Data Base error has been happening on and off since day one it's about time. Nothin' slips past her ay what. At this rate we may have good working site by 2017.Quote:

Not to mention...
I've been complaining since August.
All I was getting back was either of two:
- they're looking into it
or...
- works fine for me
I got a chuckle out of some parts of this, it's the outfit that runs our site (1 out of 27).
http://discussions.virtualdr.com/about-itbe
They're either grossly incompetent or just don't give a damn about this particular site.
dneilson - I thought you would have noticed that the last time you posted the same message it was deleted:confused:
It was deleted because it's unnecessary and down right insulting.
I'd offer you a partial or full refund of your membership fee but writing zero dollar don't do so well when you try to cash them:eek:
How about on days like today when the site is running fine - you chime in and say THANK YOU;)
Your contributions to the site are appreciated and some of your frustrations are understandable. But things like we experience from time to time are unplanned. There is No "stop doing that" type button that can be clicked on.... Some of the problems could lie within a node just outside the "new" data center and is out of our IT people's control....
So please hang in there....
I noticed the post wasn't there today but I thought I may have done something wrong (not unusual) or the site messed up.
You say it was insulting but after these many many months of problems it's the way I see it, just my opinion.. There are people who may agree with you and there are people who may agree with me--but--they should have the right to read it and make up their own mind. Open Forum, express your opinion, freedom of speech etc. It's hard for me to believe you deleted that
but U be da boss---so be it.
Again, it's slow, slow, very slow.
When trying to post the above first time around I got this error:
Quote:

- The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 1 characters.
It's working great here.
(3-4 seconds to post the above).
Waited 2 minutes for "Mark forums read" operation to complete.
It didn't.
Reloaded and it finished after another 30 seconds wait.
To post a reply, load any page it takes 2-3 minutes wait and on a top of it:
Database error The Virtual Dr Forums-Computer Tech Support database has encountered a problem.
I'm done...
After long and serious consideration I'm suspending my postings on this board until the issue is fixed.
I'll finish my topics in malware removal forum but I'll not reply to any new ones.
It's been over three months since the issue started and there is no fix in sight.
Personally I see only two reasons for this mess:
1. ITBusinessEdge doesn't treat this board seriously.
2. Their IT people should be looking for some other profession.
It's very unfortunate that after being around here for 5 years I see no other option but to quit.
Good luck guys!

You may find your Post Deleted. Your two reasons are the same two reasons I gave in a Post a while back and it was immediately Deleted.
Update: Some tweaks were done on Monday that caused the big issues on Tuesday.... They reversed those.. Last night other changes were made and so far my testing has been successful.
(((HAVE FINGERS CROSSED)))
It's been 48 hours. I haven't experienced any performance issues here or on 19 Sister Sites...
