I am using win 7 x64 with the IE9 and FF7. I have also installed the latest version of adobe reader X. I can view pdf files but cannot print nor save it from both the browsers ?

What happens/doesn't happen when you click the printer icon?
Nothing happens for any of those icons. This is so unreal....
greendesert--If this is happening with all .pdf files, I think I would uninstall Reader X and then reinstall. (and if you install Reader X over an older version of Reader uninstall that also)
Assuming this started only recently and when you installed Reader X, you could also run a System Restore.
Actually, Reader X has some serious issues, and this is one of them. If you can get the installer for Reader 8 or 9, that would be a better choice.
Or dump Adobe Reader and go with
Foxit Reader

This was also my impression. This is a fresh install of win 7 x64. It works on another fresh install of win 7 x64 home on my laptop. I have already uninstalled by revo uninstaller and installed it again after a fresh download. Seems its time to look for different option now.Quote:

To open the .pdf in a browser window, you need a plugin for the browser to do this. Adobe Reader X has one, but that is one of the issues. If you use it, it sometimes takes 2-3 minutes for the .pdf file to open, or sometimes it won't open at all. There is a setting in Adobe Reader X that you can use to turn this option off, and then the .pdf opens in an Adobe Reader X window. I don't know if there are any plugins that are available for non-Adobe .pdf readers.

Try this map in .pdf.

Now you may need to browse to .pdf on your hdd and use open with to set the file association to PDF-xchange after adobe messed thing up.
already uninstalled adobe reader and changed the file association. I have adobe on my other desktop and laptop till it works fine. Once it messes up, it bbye.
Notice how much of your resources that adobe uses. Yeah, it tries to take over and slows down a computer. :(
