rundll32.exe probs
Freind has computer that any exe file or trying to open something like add or remove programs get msg saying the rundll32.exe is missing. Tryed to re install win xp and got same error. Tryed to system restore and same error. Cannot install super antispyware same thing and same with malware bytes. Need some help

Get your WinXP CD handy, then go to Start>Run and type "sfc /scannow" without the quotes (you don't get any report from the System File Checker, it just silently replaces and corrupt or missing system files that it finds).
-
Nope that doesnt work..on my mistake and what happened with that command with other .exe commands is comes to the "open with" screen
-
It sounds like the .exe file association is messed up. This could be due to malware. It might be time to post a HijackThis log.
-
Thats fine if I can get it to run. Have had no luck with superantispyware or malware bytes but will download it and try...
-
As expected being the Highjack this install is and .exe. It won,t run. The open with menu comes up. I wonder if there is a known virus associated with this prob and if there is a fix..

One of those links fixed the exe prob . Now still cant get malwarebytes to go even in safe mode

What about HijackThis and Superantispyware? Post those logs if they will run. Check out the instructions at the link below:

kspeel--Change the name of MalwareBytes executable file to hamburger.com and see if you can run it. If so do the same with SuperAntiSpyware.

You mean like hamburger.com.exe or just hamburger.com

kspeel, chances are you're still infected.
Run HijackThis and go to HijackThis Logfiles and post your HijackThis logfile.
People there can tell you if you're really clean.
