Do you have restore points before it was installed?
no, I don.t
I do not have the back up of my HHD before I installed IE8.
Back up and restore point :all gone.
Thanks
You can try this:

Why aren't you doing backups? What happened to your system restore?
backups throught Acronis TI: every time I do a backup, I delete the previous one. I only keep the most recent one.
Same thing with restore points.
I will try your link.
The reason for my rolling back IE: since I upgraded to IE8 , the opening of the IE8 seems to take longer to fireup, and sometimes it seems to hang for a while.
But , honestly, I can live with it.
I will try your link.
Thanks.
And, if you installed XP SP3 after IE8, here is the reason why you have to uninstall SP3 before uninstalling IE8.
http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/200...and-xpsp3.aspx This applies to IE8 as well as IE7.
Thank you, MidKnyte and WelshJim.
Have a nice day.

nganvu--You are welcome. Glad to hear my suggestion was of help.
P.S. Many people report IE8 is slower than IE7 http://www.google.com/search?q=ie8+s...e7&rlz=1I7ADBF
back to IE7:)
Thanks again, Guys!
I wondered why MS makes it so difficult to uninstall its programs. Is it with purpose? IE is one of them:mad:
I did not have any problem uninstalling FireFox, then reinstalling it again, and again:)
PS: now I have the IE8 popup each time I run the update. How do I hide this unwanted update for the update list?
I am using Vista.
Thank you
Ngan
you can go into windows updates and uncheck IE8 or you can edit the registry to block it.
Create a bat file with this line and run it:
REG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Setup\8.0" /v DoNotAllowIE80 /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
thanks, MidKnyte!
nganvu--In the future when you are offered a Windows Update you do not want, reenter the Windows Update site and this time choose "Custom". You will be offered the same updates but you can choose to not be offered a particular update again.
Thank you, WelshJim, for the tip!

my xp machine is fine with ie8 but my vista machine does open slow with ie8
so, the culprit is Vista.
I cannot wait to see how Ie8 would react with Win7.
it works great with 7
Yes! IE7 works great with Vista.
well, i finally went back to ie7 on my vista machine ie8 was just to slow to open and connect, i tried all the tweaks i could find but nothing helped. it does seem to be a major problem with a lot of people, all claim slow opening
