Doesnt everything coming from the US get a $1=£1 surcharge :D
BTW The P.M. ignored all the signatures on the last petition he recieved I think this one may fair the same weather.;) :D
It has been suggested in other threads that you order the US version from a US supplier or have a US friend send you a copy as a "gift". Of course I have no knowledge of the import tax you may face. And whether you can stand seeing Favourites misspelled.
Whilst region settings will overcome any Americanism  Import duty is due on gifts of over £150 if memory serves :D
BTW the tax man even has his eye on downloading from foriegn websites ATM
Are there some sort of figures to compare...When you subtract the shipping costs/duty fee etc and then convert the currency, just how much more expensive is a copy of Vista?
Last time I got an email from Tony Blair, perhaps this time it will come from even higher, Bill Gates himself:DQuote:

Try taking those pink glasses off and see if there's a label on top of the box:D
According to this site http://www.microsoft.com/resources/h...ll/en/coa.mspx the American disks are made in Puerto Rico, can anyone confirm that for me please.
Ireland may very well be the distribution point for the UK and the rest of Europe and not necessarily where its made. Having worked in IBM, I know that they used Ireland as the distribution point for all of Europe and the Middle East. It would make sense that Microsoft did the same, being that Ireland is closer geographically to the US that mainland Europe.
That is correct..the box says "MADE IN PUERTO RICO...FOR DISTRIBUTION IN THE US/CANADA ONLY". I don't know why they had to yell about it though....Quote:

Suppose they must be the same otherwise we wouldn't have to change from the default US settings every time.
