Meaning no disrespect to L2L2, but we should be careful no to confuse different with bad. Most of L2L2's issues were more a matter of personal preference and/or familiarity than actual problems with FF. I remember back in the day, I used to work for a consulting company, and we used WordPerfect 5.1 (yes, the DOS version) as our in-house word processor. I loved it, great program. Then I was put on a project for a major client who was moving to this new-fangled Windows 3.11 thing, and they insisted that all documentation be done in MS Word. I was forced to use Word for 6 months, and I *hated* it. Nothing was where I expected it to be, all the menus were different, I couldn't figure out how to get even the simplest things done. But after a few weeks, I got more familiar with it, found some stuff I actually liked about it, and eventually got proficient. When the project was over, I was back in the office, looking forward to using my old friend, WordPerfect, and guess what? I hated it! Nothing was where I expected it to be, all the menus were different, I couldn't remember how to get even the simplest things done.
My point is, we all need to find what we're comfortable using. Given the wide and rapid acceptance of FF, I think its safe to say it's a very good browser, but anyone considering using it should be prepared for some big differences, a kind of culture shock. FF is *not* just a replacement for IE, it is at its core a different way of browsing. Some differences (lack of native ActiveX support, for example) are design choices. Other differences are simply a matter of menu placement or name choices. If you're just looking for more bells and whistles in your browser, but want to keep all the functionality (and risk) of IE, maybe you should look at Maxthin (formerly MyIE2). But if you want to break free of IE, FF is one of the best choices out there. Just be prepared for some culture shock, and give yourself time to make adjustments. Like millions, I think you'll find it's worth it.
