thanks for the info
yay! Discovered some bugs in the beta version just last week, hope they have fixed them :)
Thanks for the heads up Nomad
Hong
I've had bugs in the beta also. I'll try to replace my version with the new one.
[edit] I just replaced it and this is great (everything seems to work - so far). I've been paying for a MusicNow account and it didn't work with WMP10 beta - now it does (none of my music licenses transferred with the beta). All of the other on-line music "stores" are now functional. Also, all of the buttons seem to work, although I haven't tried burning anything yet. It opens alot quicker, too.
I can't see if it's listed or not, but is this still beta????
Nope, this is the full version. Beta testing has finished.
Hong
Thanks :)
Just installed it :D
Went without a hitch. I uninstalled WMP10 Beta and WMP Beta Runtime before installing, just to be safe.
I like the new icons ;)
Only played a few songs so far, will give it a more thourough testing in the coming weeks.
Regards
Hong
For what it's worth, I downloaded it without removing the beta and had no trouble.
Yeah I wasnt too sure and I was too impatient to find out () so i just uninstalled the betas, rebooted and installed the Final version.
Hehe :D

I was afraid I might lose the songs (and licenses) that I've downloaded from the various services affiliated with the player.
I've downloaded, but do have a question. ¿With version 10, does it now have an uninstaller where as 9 did not?
I belive it is not an uninstaller as sucj, its a rollback. If you go to AddRemove Programs from the control Panel and select Remove for Windows Media Player 10 it will rollback to Version 9.
If you have XP WMP9 will not have an uninstaller as it will not let you to install anything older.
Hong
This is from the FAQ page.
If you have installed Windows Media Player 10, you can roll back to the version of the Player that was on your computer before installing Windows Media Player 10.
To roll back from Windows Media Player 10 to a previous version
In Control Panel (Category View), click Add or Remove Programs.
Click Add or Remove Programs again, and then do one of the following:
If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 2, select the Show updates check box (at the top of the list), click Windows Media Player 10, and then click Change/Remove.
- or -
If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 1 or earlier, click Windows Media Player 10, and then click Change/Remove.
You can also use System Restore to roll back to the previous version of the Player.

10 here I come...

Do not live in the UK but will try it and see
Sorry?
Ooops Sorry.
Meant Do not live in the USA as the download on the Website said it was for USA English and would not work for users in the UK for the Online Shops.
I downloaded the US version, makes no difference to me as I dont use the online shops :)
There is an International Version, dont know about UK shops on that one though. Surely MS have not left out Great Britain? :p
I hope not!!!
Nah
Will look for the international one and try that.
The prev ver 9 after installing SP2 i was not able to get the radio on WMP and was hoping this would sort it out.
I just download WMP 10.
All my songs were transferred.
I am so pleased.:)
Silly question I may ask:
I see the new feature "Rip" on the new WMP 10. Would it be the same as "CD burning"?
Ripping is copying tracks from CDs to your Library. Burning is copying tracks stored in your Library to CDs. Live streams (like radio) can't be burned to CDs.
you can also download music from walmarts online music thru wmp10 see here

does the shuffle work ?
I have switched to itunes because of the shuffle always playing certain songs over and over again
My 'shuffle' works. Maybe you had 'repeat' on. When shuffle is turned on, items in a playlist or tracks on a CD are played in a random order. When repeat is turned on, a playlist, CD, or a selected DVD title can be played repeatedly.
Freddy, WMP10 has 6 affiliate services including Wal-Mart. See the link.

thanks duane, i have used walmarts or my family has and get great downloads.
Thanks, Duane, for the explaination.:)
i already have windows media player 9 and when I find the site to upgrade to 10 it keeps giving me the WMP 9 version,, I have installed 9 tonight two times and i still can't get the site to give me WMPten .
Here's another site. Try this link.

[edit] Another thought - Aren't you using ME? WMP10 only works with XP.
todd. i believe wmp 10 is for xp only i remember you had me should work if you have gotten xp
ok, what duane said he beat me to it.
Microsoft is now going to host their own music downloads. They are aiming at Apple. http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/p...taLaunchPR.asp
Well I am unimpressed. The only kind of files you can rip and burn to is wma. So guess I just have a humongous Player, and will have to rip and burn with something else. And they have changed around the options positions just enough to be irritating. And I just uninstalled it, because I was getting a very faint motor boating sound. Don't get it with MP9 or Real Player. Had to use System Restore to get back to MP9.
Another silly question:
What the use of the " start sync" button, on the left side of the " start burnt"?
I believe that is for syncing music with protable devices, i.e MP3 player, etc.
Right. Syncing is for portable devices.
I haven't used the features, but this is from the Help file.
"When a Now Playing list is displayed in the List pane, the Start Sync button and the Start Burn button are displayed at the bottom of the pane so that you can quickly synchronize the items in the list to your portable device or burn the items in the list to a CD."
" When a Sync list is displayed in the List pane, the Start Sync button is displayed at the bottom of the pane so that you can quickly synchronize the items in the list to your portable device; when a Burn list is displayed in the List pane, the Start Burn button is displayed at the bottom of the pane so that you can quickly burn the items in the list to a CD."
Thanks! Duane.
Thanks! Hong.
I still have a lot to learn from WMP.:(
Had no difficulties to install WMP 10.
However, after completing a download, clicking on "Open Folder" does not work anymore. I did a rollback to WMP 9 where it did function, and now it doesn't function there either. The other option "Open" does work but is not useful in most cases.
OH good stuff nice information thanks
