The latest reflist has been released today.
When installed it will show "Signaturefile in use is: 241-14.01.2002" , at the bottom of your Ad-Aware GUI.
According to our Lavasoft friends it covers the new Ezula version, ZapSpot and contains updates for some new Gatorcomponents.
Invoke your Refupdater, or visit Lavasoft.de, or one of the mirrors.
My favorite of course,Nice Files, has a squeaky clean copy available for d/l.

I just did a scan w/ the new reflist..& turned up 3 Ezula reg keys......
then went to 3 pages that use the script that detects Ezula toptext.....& was not alerted.
Ran X-cleaner....which also scans for Ezula...& came up clean.
I need more info.....what could possibly have brought Ezula onto my computer.....?
Lavasoft site is still down.......as much as I despise Ezula & its garbage...I gotta leave it alone for now.

I'm aware of the scummy nature of Ezula.....& it's presence in Kazaa.

discogail, I don't know of any others that contain Ezula but there is quite a bit of reading on it at the search link below.

discogail, I have the exact same three entries and like you I have no idea how I could have acquired them. Using Ad-aware, I have removed them after backing-up
It can't be a false positive.
If Ad-Aware found the entries, they're there.
It is incapable of making them up by itself.
Due to the nature of these reg keys, they're more likely than not either remnants of a former Ezula 'infestation', or some sloppy programming by a program you installed, which used to include Ezula, but later removed it and forgot to remove all traces of it.

Alexa is a little different, in that it comes with Internet Explorer, where'it's responsible for the 'related sites' feature.

I had a feeling this would happen........the forums & the newsgroups are starting to fill up w/ posts about this. It seems a lot of people (everybody?) all of a sudden has Ezula on their system.
For example, there are 3 NGs at news.grc.com...privacy, spyware, & security software.....with threads going on.
I expect alt.privacy.spyware to be very active as well.

Like the rest of you, I found three ezula registry keys with adaware after installing the latest reflist. After reading up on ezula and searching my machine for stub.exe, ezstub.exe, and ezulaboot.dll and finding nothing, I am beginning to wonder if the ezula stuff could be imbedded or hidden within the executable files of some other popular program. Is this possible? For example, I have long suspected that something within Netsurfer.exe phones home whenever I go online.
Just a thought.

Scads of people are finding Ezula...& as far as I know.....Kazaa is the only host...Oh.& IMesh too, I think....
& since the Lavasoft site is currently down..can't go there for info.

Last time I checked..the security.software & spyware groups had discussions going on this.
