Mime format is basically the world "standard" format. If I'm not mistaken, some ISP's like AOL have trouble reading some mime type emails..Ask the original sender to try sending again but in "plain text." (not html/rich text)
Thanks for your reply. I am not sure who the sender is, so I guess I will trash it. I am on earthlink at work and not sure what their server is. But thanks anyway.
pennydog--On the chance you have not yet deleted that email, have you tried to open in Internet Explorer? (You may have to save to a .txt file first.)

The email came in at work and we use internet explorer. It is in the Mime format and rather long. We are not sure who it is from, but that is not uncommon at our office. I just thought there may be some way to convert it so we could read it. I still have the message in the inbox. Could we save it to a disc then open it in another program where we can read it? Thanks for your help.
pennydog--I think WinZip will open Mime messages. (Sorry about the suggestion of IE.)

I downloaded a "decoding" program, but it requires me to save it as a .txt file and the email program will not allow me to save. Not sure what is up with that. I have sent it to the yahoo mail program and it will not allow me to save from that location either. I am at a lost as to how to read it. I have the winzip but not sure how to go about getting it to open with that program. Thanks for your help!
pennydog--I guess you know you have not told us which email program you use (though Mosaic1 seems to think you have Yahoo). Most email programs--certainly Outlook Express which ships as part of Internet Explorer--offer the opportunity to Save or Save As. Then you can choose several file formats in which to save at the bottom of the window that opens. But whether you save as .txt or .htm, have you tried putting the saved message into WinZip?

I thought i had mentioned my mail program but I guess I did not, sorry. We use outlook at work and I tried to save as, but it will not give me anything to save, does not do anything when I click on save as. I forwarded to a Yahoo account thinking I could save it from there, but could not. I guess there is no hope on this particular email. I was curious as to what it contained since it was in Mime format. Thanks to everyone for the help. I will try it in the yahoo mail as suggested above. Again, Thanks!
So far nothing has worked to decode this maessage. But thanks anyway guys!
pennydog--Will your OE program allow you to File|Save As any emails? If the problem is general, you might want to reinstall OE.
P.S. Here is a real clunky way for saving an email message, but you should really not have to do this on an ongoing basis. Click somewhere in the message, click Control+A, click Control+C, open WordPad or NotePad and click Control+V. Now you have pasted the message into one of those word editors and should be able to save as .doc or .txt respectively.

Thanks Jim, when I get to work tomorrow I will try that and see what happens with it. I am not sure if I have ever tried to save as an email. I will check that out also tomorrow. Thanks for your help and I will let you know what happens with it.
Ok, I just tried the ctl + A, Ctl + C etc thing and put it in word pad. It allowed me to save it and then I opened it with the zip file, still encrypted, only different types of symbols other than the original email. So any other suggestions? this is driving me nuts!

Just in case you haven't done so, virus scan it anyway, just in case.
