Aaaaarrrgghhh :mad:
Quite often when I am browsing the web, I like to listen to streamed radio, or maybe some of my own music, stored locally on my machine.
These adverts on VDR, (top right corner) are ruining my surfing of this great site. Every link to every post just starts the adverts over and over.
How can I make it stop
That is what is paying for the upkeep and maintenance of the site.
Been here so long, I do not even pay much attention to the ads, except to laugh now and then.

Just want to apologise for the rant, and for the sake of clarity I am not against adverts per se (I do understand that they are necessary for funding purposes).
I had not noticed before that the adverts contained sound, now that I have noticed, I find them to be annoying (the sound element that is).
SpywareDr, I will try what you have suggested and appreciate your input. Is it possible to be selective as to what sites I'd want to disable Java, or indeed what sites I may want to apply adblock to? Please excuse my ignorance.

sorry spywaredr for getting you into trouble.
and sorry admin for bringing up an inappropriate subject, all I wanted to do was try and point out that the sound in the adverts was annoying. Guess the fix will have to be not to listen to anything (via pc) and turn the volume down on the pc when surfing vdr and other sites where the sound is distracting.
No problem, but I think those ads also have a mute button to mute the sound.
They do, but once you go to another page (withing vdr), or click on reply, and then maybe preview, and then post reply, each time it resets the ad and you have to mute it every time.Quote:
