Have you tried a PS2 mouse?
If you get into Windows with it you could sort the problem

thought about that but looked and dont think I have one anymore
-
just thinking there has to be something Outthere I can install from the safemode "dos" to reinstall the windows mouse driver
-
Do you have any floppys or cd's that came with the mouse?
-
Nope, just someones puter working on and pulled a few old mice out of the drawer..If I can download a generic one that I can install in the dos safe mode that would work
-
Dunedin asked you if you had a PS2 mouse and you said no, yet you pulled out some old "mice" out of a drawer and none of them was a PS2? very strange.
That is why I asked if you had a floppy or CD since I thought you had a wireless mouse or some such.
-
No sorry for the misunderstanding I have ps2 mice. I thought you were talking about a serial mouse
-
Unplug and replug the PS/2 connection 3 or 4 times.
Maybe just dirty contacts and that usually cleans them enough for things to work.
Nothing unusual, I have to do that once in a while too.
Drivers are ther and are fine, just the connection is more than likely dirty.
Same thing happened with serial mice also.

Tryed a usb mouse and never worked either,,Just see the arrow but no movement

that fine and dandy if I could log into windows and install it

I think you need to do an over-the-top re-install of Windows XP here. Boot up with the XP CD in the drive and let Setup run. Go past the "C" and "R" repair options by pressing Enter just as if you're doing a clean install and you'll eventually get an option to "Repair an existing installation". That's the one you want. If it asks about formatting you've gone wrong, so start over.
You'll get to keep your existing apps & settings, but you need to re-install SP2, Windows Updates & any unsigned drivers afterwards. NOTE: Be aware that you'll lose any protection from Blaster / Sasser type worms. Don't go online without a firewall, whether the built in Windows one or 3rd party.

Supersparks may have the best answere yet. I typed this problem into Google and a person with the same problem on another forum went out and bought a new PS2 mouse for under $5.00 and it solved his problem.
I did the over the top repair that Supersparks is telling you about for a friend last week and it went real smooth. No problems at all.
Good luck.
