A thank-you to the Mods & Admins

I haven't been around much lately (and miss you guys), but based on recent experience you've been on my mind a lot. I've been spending time at an Interior Design board (remodeling and all) and it's a large and active board, primarily self-moderated because nothing ever really got out of hand. In recent weeks a mod suddenly appeared and has decided to "clean up" what wasn't messed up, and is deleting posts and threads left and right without justification or explanation, issuing warning emails to rule abiding members that they'll be kicked off the board, all kinds of crazy antics ala' Barney Fife after a day of binging at Starbucks.

Anyway, it made me think of how all that is so not VDr. And I just wanted to let you guys know that you've always been tops in my book. You're fair, approachable, and don't run around like nuts with hatchets shredding posts to bits and making threats. Thank you!

Thank you Kat, we try & run things on an even keel around here, sounds like that mod is a bit gung ho. Too bad as he will probably put those forums in a bad situation. BJ

It's pretty interesting how each board has its own personality.

See guys? I TOLD you all those charm school courses and personality workshops would pay off! So you had to shell out for the tuition yourselves, so what? Isn't it nicer to be nicer? :D

Ha! I just had a mental image of all the mods congregated in a room, walking around in circles with outstretched arms while balancing War & Peace on their heads. :D

This is probably the best of computing boards, due in my opinion to the professional and even handed way in which you moderators handle the variety of problems posed by the members. We are all grateful for your fine work.

Me too. I used to sneak into my neighbor's apt. when I was POed, open her clothes hamper, and then play "kick the cat into the hamper". Now I'm a calmer, gentler me. I just throw the cat into the hamper now

I'm not a long-time mod, or long-time member, but i'll say thanks for the kind words anyway, and thanks to JP for the workshop, i got a personality for free! after a lot of e-mails that wanted £9.99 in 26 easy payments....

Interesting....I use to practice walking with four Encyclopedia Brittanica's on my head. Now I walk a lot straighter since the vertebrae in my neck and back got compacted together.

War and Peace?? JP told me that everybody got Oxford's Complete and Unabridged English Dictionary, just like me. What's up with that? :confused:

I second the good job around here.
Other boards are filled with pointless flame wars that are just plain disruptive, nothing more. (though I do admit that they can be entertaining at times, but it just gets old too quick)
