I'm sure a moderator here will probably lock or remove this thread because they feel it's unrelated to anything VDr stands for. I feel it does have some relevancy, so I'm posting it. Telemarketers are like viruses and germs that annoy me.

I'm just trying to help out, if you feel otherwise then remove the thread.

I considered posting the site last night, but decided not to because of the forum rules, and because this is only a U.S. issue. I'm glad you did though. It will be helpful to a lot of people.

i signed up as soon as it was up and running.

Thought this was rather amusing,,went over and registered my phone number. Noticed IE6 had the lil eyeball and red circle at the bottom. Clicked and this is what came up as third party cookie blocked:

Thought ".gov" sites were not supposed to be "commercial"?! :p

Thanks Vernon,,Ya',,i looked at the summary of it and it said it couldn't find it in it's database. Was guessing it was something to do with my cable co. Still seemed strange it would block it,but,oh well...:)

They're getting 108 entries per second. I love it. :D

they have 3 MONTHS to remove your number !

that puts it at the END of 2003.

there are a NUMBER of exemptions,including political,charity and ANY business that you have ANY association with [like bill collectors from same !].

this is NOT a cure all by any means. just an attempt to garner political hay by our SO-CALLED leadre's in congress.

I gave two phone numbers and only got acknowledged on one. Sent it Sunday morning. Still haven't gotten acknowledged for other phone number.

Registered six. Received acknowledgements for all within a 12 hour period.

Resubmit the number that hasn't be acknowledged, after 72 hours if you haven't click on the link in the e-mail, that number will not be registered.

This should send a signal to all telemarketers, "Leave Us Alone!".

I wish they can come up with a similar system for e-mail spam, and one that'll work.

As to the "State" no call programs. In my state(Orygun) they charge you $5.00 per year to be on "their" no call list. May be worth it for those who get hit often,but not for me...:(
