Two huge dents in each side ! I'm sendin' it back https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
Ok....gotta get out bistros notes. Trying to take off the front. Don't wanna break off any tabs.
The loose paper in the bag says S700 https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
It says S500 on the invoice.

I have successfully installed the rubber feet ! https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
OK I got it open ....Finally! I heeded your warning about the front cover, bistro. First, I figured out how to get both sides off. LORD!... wires are everywhere! https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
I see the little plastic cage for the fan which also has a tiny buzzer. One of my fans goes there (intake) and the other (exhaust) in the back where there are the same perforations but no cage?
-
One goes in the cage--kinda "snaps" in, with the label facing inwards towards the case (flat edge); wire is placed alongside the speaker wire out the bottom. The other (rear exhaust) will screw onto the back of the case (on the inside), flat edge of the fan against the case surface. You'll notice that only two screws are needed--the opposite holes fit over two dimples. Be careful working around in there...even though they made rounded edges (Thank you, InWin!)--there are still a few sharp one in there out of design necessity.
QOH...You have just taken your first massive step towards building your own system. Congratulations. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ Took a look at the Abit BX133-RAID mobo--looks like it'll fit perfectly on the dimples without touching the other ones. Didn't see a "grounding" screw hole, though--may not require one.
EDIT: Oh well...gonna "break down" and pick up a Hercules Prophet II MX vid card tonight after work. I'll benchmark my Viper 770, then the Prophet and compare--will post results tonight perhaps, and let ya'll know what my not-so-tactful opinion is. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

Got um in. It looked like 4 holes but two were not punched thru. In the one with the cage, it felt like the fan snapped in...sort of. Not real secure but the holes to mount are not in the right place to still be able to use the cage. So, I guess that'll have to do...unless I drill some new ones https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
Now the glides?
EDIT:
Oh! A new Video Card! I'm anxious to hear your test results.

Just set the glides aside for now--you don't have any drives to put them on. Here's some other things you can do for now to "prep" the case:
1. Take the front panel off carefully; look at the inside of it. You'll notice the back of the bay panels have spring snaps to remove them--leave them on for now (again, you have nothing to put in for now). You'll also see the switch springs--be careful not to mess with them too much--can break.
2. Now look at the chassis in the front. You'll notice that all 3 of the large bays and the two small bays have a metal plate in front---(*OH NO! How will I get my drives in there?*--never fear. Those are breakaway plates just to protect the bays against shipping/manufacturing damage. Might as well remove them all, even though you may not be using all those bays. Very carefully (may want to use a work glove for this--edges are sharp), starting with the top bay, slowly twist the plate back and forth until it breaks away. Do that for all the rest, including the small ones (3.5")--throw those plates away--don't need them. You might find that the bottom large bay is a little stubborn--doesn't want to bend too far because the chassis is in the way--just bend it back and forth a little until it's free.
Once done, put the panel back on.
3. Your option to do this, but I've found it helps clean up the wiring mess inside. Radio Shack has black plastic spiral wire "looming" that twists around and holds the wire bundles tight (NOT the "split looming"). You can do each power wire bundle with that wrap and it tidies things up a bit.
Some folks have used electrical tape to do the same, but heat buildup inside the case sometimes makes them a gooey mess.
There...that oughta keep you busy for awhile... https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
See ya'll later tonight. QOH--if you've got any questions AT ALL--just keep asking. I may roll my eyes, but I'll keep it private https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
NO SUCH THING AS "DUMB QUESTIONS" HERE. We wanna get this right and as painless as possible. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
EDIT: Not trying to insult your intelligence here, but just thought of something---when puttting that spiral looming on the wire bundles, don't be like that guy who started wrapping, THEN cut the looming when he reached the end. Ended up cutting the wires (I had "fun" chastising him...."Got any other dumb relatives still climbing trees?"). Pre-measure first, cut the looming, then wrap.
*If I hear if any of these guys have cut their power supply wires, I'm just gonna freak...* https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

https://discussions.virtualdr.com/My uncle decided his extension cord was too long and wanted to get rid of any excess. He plugged it in and walked the distance he wanted it to be, then took a pair of wire cutters and was fixing to chop it off ! My aunt caught him....Thank Heavens ! https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
So the glides fasten to the drives. Then just slide in the hole ...I mean bay?
Which one of these numerous wires do the fans plug into ? hmmm...and why do they have both male and female plugs ? https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
(.....don't even think it! https://discussions.virtualdr.com/)

Q_O_H
So someone has a red face https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
Bistro brought up a couple points about the wrap I will be following also. Excellent Idea, as the inside can get awfully cluttered up with wires.
Everyone I am having a hard time finding 20GB ATA100 7200 rpm harddisk, but got a surprise WD 30GB ATA100 7200 rpm for $130 with a $30 rebate at Office Depot. The list price is what I am seeing for 20's on the net. Anyone seen better??

Hey ! You're right Train !
Even Allstar ...it was $101.00 for the 20 gig but now it says Not in stock. We currently do not carry this product and is not orderable. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
I'm fixing to call my Office Depot and see if they have them, and if they have the same deal.
EDIT:
They do have the 20Gig for$119.00. The 30Gig is $139.00 with a coupon for $30 off any Iomega product. Not a Rebate.
Got all those pieces out of the front. No bandaids. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

Oh well....wasn't meant to be, Train. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
Probably an even better deal waiting out there you'da missed.
I called Best Buy, too, and the kid on the phone said $99.99 for the 20Gig. I started to get excited. Then I asked if that was the 7200 RPM.....NO, that was the 5400RPM.
7200 is $119.00
-
IBM 30GB ATA100 7200 = 149+
WD 30GB ATA100 7200 = 139+
So far I have not found many 20's at this speed and ATA100.
