You didn't think I was dumb enough to take my money with me.....did you ? https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
I did find several of the items on my list. One place could order what they didn't have.
Nobody could match the prices on line. In fact one guy wanted to know where I had gotten those prices (looking at me incredulously https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ ) The prices in () are what you guys found on line. These are as low as I could find in the windows.
WD hard drive 139.00 (125.00)
Enlight case 79.00 (55.00)
128MB RAM 89.00 (43.00)

I also had meant to go by and visit with an acquaintence who's deep into computers...and was also deep in trouble with the FBI https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ (not any more....no proof https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ )
Anyway, I did all I could in what little time I had today. I will visit with him, and one other person who might have more sources than I found, before I decide for sure which way to go.
Oreos ? https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
512 MB - 8,191 MB uses 4 KB cluster
8,192 MB - 16,383 MB uses 8 KB
16,384 MB - 32,767 MB use 16 KB
32,768 MB and above use 32 KB
Now if you have a 1K file going into the cluster, [How much wasted space would have left in that cluster] This what a lot of folks talk about when they refer to wasted space on a hard disk. As you can tell from the chart a 20 and a 30GB hard drive would use 16KB clusters.
This food for thought is just that and as you have been talking about Partitioning,
it might help you.

Could one use a 95 machine to do this as long as they used the correct 98 boot floppy for the final machine to receive harddisk.Got ask this by a fellow employee after telling him about Diskcopy.

Train: In a word....nope. (Making supper for my family--STOP--kinda busy--STOP--was just checking in real quick--STOP--will get back in a little while--STOP--OK, I'll STOP now).
EDIT: (doing a lot of these edits lately...)
Taking a real quick break here...I may have to recant on the "nope" above. In fact, yes, you can do that, but on a 95 machine using the 95 startup disk--do not try to use a 98 on a 95. That's just after a real quick scan of the link you gave. I'll read it more thoroughly in a while. Later.

Ok...been a long time since having to use a 95 boot disk, but if memory serves me correctly, it's slightly different from the 98 in that it doesn't have the CD-ROM support that the 98 has, and you MUST use the command format c: /s when formatting to make the partition active (98 boot disk does this "automatically" upon a prompt). On that site, there is a link to Bootdisk.com---that's a fairly well known, handy-dandy site. Has a download to make a customized boot disk that'll work for 95 through ME. Never used it myself, but have heard from others it works like a charm. Train, I'd steer your friend to that particular download to make his boot disk---rather than the "standard" 95 boot disk--probably would have greater success with it.
(But have the standard 95 boot disk on hand anyway).
