Also the machine is running well, but something is wrong. Within The start button where it lists previous application that were used nothing is listed there. Plus I can not execute some applications through the run command. I do not know if you can help with that.

Right click on any registry subfolder, or key, which doesn't want to delete, click "Permissions", and make sure, you have "Full control" of it.
...and as I said before, registry entries are just text files, harmless, as long, as the file, registry entry calls for, is gone....and all bad files are gone.

In "HijackThis Logfiles" forum, only limited number of people can post replies.
I click on the permissions and it gives a box with group or user names. Under it the permissions are listed. I cannot click on the full control for allow or deny. What should I do?

To take ownership of a registry key
1. Open Registry Editor.
2. Click the key you want to take ownership of.
3. On the Edit menu, click Permissions.
4. Click Advanced, and then click the Owner tab.
5. Under Change owner to, click the new owner, and then click OK.
I followed your instructions. I went back to the permissions menu and it still does not allow me full control or allow me to delete it. What should I do? or it's just stuck there.

Open Registry Editor with RegEdt32, not regedit command, and try again.
I tried to execute it, but an error box popped up saying: Cannot import: Error opening the file. There may be a disk or file system error. What should I do?
You tried RegEdt32?
Yes that is was I used. It first initializes and ask me are you sure you want to add information to the registry, I click yes and the pop error comes up this is what I told before that I have problems with. However i used the command prompt for regedit. I tried it for regedt32 and the error keeps coming up.

I don't understand. When you run RegEdt32, Registry Editor should simply open without any questions. What was supposed to be added to the registry.Quote:

You're doing something wrong.
Go Start>Run, and type in:
RegEdt32
Click OK.
Does it open Registry Editor?
OK, I did that and a pop up window opens and it ask me and this is how it's exactly written: "Are you sure you want to add information in to the registry?"
I click yes and the pop error window comes open.
One other thing I forgot to mention the popup error: "Cannot import: Error opening the file. There may be a disk or file system error. " There is red circle with a white X in the center precedding the message. Is this normal or not?

Hmmm...there is something wrong here.
The above error may occur only, if you try to run some registry file (.reg extension), but RegEdt32.exe is an executive file, which when run, should open Registry Editor.
Try couple of things.
1. Search your computer for RegEdt32.*. Post results.
2. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32, and see, if you have RegEdt32.exe file there.
3. Go Start>Run, and enter RegEdt32.exe there, instead of simple RegEdt32.
Click OK, and see, if Registry Editor will open.
I found the file in these directories
C:\I386
C:\Windows\SYSTEM32
I also found the file regedt32.exe-3AF50E64.pf in the directory C:\windows\prefetch. I've done as you instructed it still does the same thing. What should I do?
