https://discussions.virtualdr.com/Now tell me how you arrived at 931MHz if it says 904MHz ?
I see a difference. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ Need toothpicks. Can't blink now or I'll miss something! https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
the BX chipset does no support 4x agp at all right?
I arrived at the number 931 instead of 904 by a simple technique called "Not Reading Her Posts Correctly". https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ Ok, ok...you're still in the Hallowed Halls--faster than most folks I've seen on the 98 forum.....Remember: when you overclock the CPU, you're overclocking everything else (PCI/RAM/AGP)--but you are still well within tolerances and your BIOS looks like it's compensating for that quite nicely. Don't go any higher though, without getting more cooling in that system. The absolute highest I've seen that chip rate is 975---but that was with a rig that looked and acted like a Frigidaire). You've got a real speedy system there now---don't be messin' around too much. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
About the AGP support I found what looks like the perfect Motherboard.... Abit SA6R Raid Socket 370 AGP ATX Motherboard. But it says something that is confusing.... at this site ( http://www.allstarshop.com/shop/prod...0205RWQUVU9VN3 ) it says... "1 AGP slot (with AGP 4X support and AIMM compatibility), integrated AGP 2X" so is this 4x compiant? i dont get it.
Viper: There was a lot of confusion on that matter---supposedly Intel was to come out with a BX-2 set that "supported" 4x. A word of note: 4X AGP is mostly hype--about a 1% difference between it and 2x. A lot of cards and mobos out there saying "4x supported", "4x AGP compatibility", etc. Don't get suckered into thinking it's sooooo much faster. Watch the marketing lingo. A model comes out that has an extra screw on it, so NOW it's the "New and Improved XYZ-2, instead of 1. Believe me, I played all the Unreal series (great game by the way) on a legacy 3D card with only 1x/2x and it looked great--used the Nvidia TNT2 drivers for it.
so it DOSENT support 4x?
Haven't seen one yet that does, but I could be wrong. Tel you what, post the question over at the sister site in Hardware HERE. (There's a Motherboard Forum there). If you haven't been on the Hardware site before, you'll have to register with a new password before posting. I'll be lookin' over there too, but as far as i know, plans for making a BX board with 4x support were dumped a while back.

So would it work on the Abit since it is based on Intel 815E chipset right?

I see https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ So if I read YOUR post incorrectly then I should be able to go on up another notch or two?
I am watching for any changes --good or bad. So far only good.
Thank you... ( ? is that appropriate here ? ) https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
I guess that remains to be seen...
Viper: That's correct--that chipset supports 4x--but when checking mobos, make sure it states that.
QoH: You're welcome. Dont't make any more adjustments. Perhaps later, when fooling around with case mods, we can up it one more notch, but you're running good now. I'm hesitant because I'm not right there to check it all. Don't want to fry something in there. Enjoy the new speed!

Thanks greengoose,
I tried the little survey and knew all the stuff they were asking for to fill in the blanks (amazing, huh?), but the list did not go beyond 700MHz. Even the part for the "stepping" I had discovered in the System Information recently and wondered what that meant. So I don't get to participate in the survey. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ Must have been created before the Mercy was conceived. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
Still copacetic, bistro. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
