Sony exhibited the same behavior when their paying customers played specific music CDs on their computers, which planted a rootkit. Here is the Sony rootkit URL, if anyone is interested.

In the end, the only thing that made Sony eventually fess up was getting the online media involved. When Charlotte created this thread, I did a Google search for Maple Story Problems and got 5 million plus links. The next day, I did the same identical search and got a million more links.
Again, this is exactly what happened with the Sony rootkit. Eventually, the Google searches produced over 15 million links.
Start posting about this problem on every high-tech website, email technology journalists, zdnet, etc. Get as much media involved as possible. In the case of Sony, people got so frustrated that they started boycotting all Sony products. Hitting irresponsible and unresponsive vendors in the pocketbook is the only way to get their attention.
