Triple check your list and plan and pre-plan the planning and re-organize the pre-planning session....all kidding aside....I know you have double checked everything but why not triple check it all tonight to make sure you have everything you need....you will not want to be making that 2 hour drive into the metroplex on friday evening to pick up that last little thing you forgot for BT... (2 hour drive sounds amazingly similar to a 3 hour tour) we have all the castaways too.......goose is gilligan train is mr. howell bistro is the professor jaak could be the skipper daizy is maryanne and QoH is Ginger.....and the rest of us are supporting cast members....or the studio audience....he he...

In anticipation of my own build later this fall/winter (starting to order pices here and there) I also have a question about the GeForce cards: I've been using mainly http://www.pricewatch.com (watching the XP processors go up and down, up and down) and under video cards they list:
GeForce 3 : $249
GeForce 3 Ti: $179
These "Ti" cards are all pre-orders though - what's the difference between them and the regular GeF3's and, if I'm correct in assuming they are slightly stripped-down versions, is the regular GeF3 that much better to warrant almost $100 more?
On a similar note, is the SB Audigy platinum really that much better than the regular SB Live! platinum?

Hey Goose,,If you'd like a good review of vid cards,this site: http://www.hardocp.com/video.html
will tell about all you'd ever want to know.
Also,,the "Ti" stands for Titanium regarding the NVidea chip used i believe.
The hardocp site has a review pitting the ATI Radeon 8500 against the GeForce3. The results tell me to forget the ATI if@until they get their act together with drivers and chip clocking Mhz over at ATI...
Just some thoughts... https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

Thanks for the tip Ridgerunr - I checked out the site and apparently the Ti cards should actually be better than those that are currently available ?? Maybe I'm missing something here...
I wonder what gg1 will finally decide on... I'm still trying to convince myself that I _really_ need the GeF3 card, not to mention that Audigy Platinum heh heh... https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

We better shut this thread down and start another one because of the length of this one. Please do not post anymore on this thread. Thanks. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
