I think I will be also.....I just think bistro is sitting on the east coast cracking up because I am sitting on egg shells on the left coast....I know he has a warped since of humor..and I usually can appreciate it.....but right now I am too busy thinking of ways to get even with him https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

Oh go ahead and power it up. You'll be OK....snicker, snicker...
Seriously, that's a good card and glad you fixed the problem. Go for it. Like DrMDJ said though, you are far better off with a 7200 and will see a definite performance increase with one far more than with an ATA card/ATA mobo alone. Combine both and you've got a good setup.
my primary hard drive is ata100 and 7200 rpm connected to the ata100 connector on the mobo.....the one connected to the whatever you want to call it ultra/fastrak66 card is ata100 but only 5400 rpm drive...I am using that soley for file storage... and I was not primarily concerned with speed on this drive....just wanted to have it in this machine along with the primary hard drive, cdr, dvd, and zip drive....to tell the truth I will probably never benefit from the RAID functions of this card...because I don't ever see myself hooking another 20 gig drive up to the 2nd channel of the card....but I am very happy to have it working in any capacity even tho it only cost me 15 bucks with the shipping included I am kinda frugal with my money and when something doesn't work when I spend money on it I get a little ticked off....but thanks to several suggestions on this board I finally got it taken care of....now I can either move on to another project of my own or continue to help others....My next project is going to be to expand my computer desk...I have an oak desk with a 2 tiered bookshelf attached and I am thinking about adding more shelving to the top of it and making it reach the ceiling and putting in cubby holes for software and books.
