Trying to install/uninstall AnyMeeting

If you extract the autoruns.exe file from the autoruns.zip file from the link below, and then double click on the autoruns.exe program, it should open a window that shows all startup programs. There is a column in the display window that is labelled Image Path. If you run autoruns.exe on the good user account, it will show you the path to the AnyMeeting.exe program file that is loaded at startup. That is the path we would like to check to see if it is the one we think it is. You should also run autoruns.exe on the problem account to see if the path is the same.

Except for the REGEDIT, i had tried that multiple times with no result. I can try with the REGEDIT step and see.

jcd2000, if the previous suggestion is not working, i'll try yours.

P.S. no idea why i dont get notifications!

I have not had a notification in the last 15 years. I just check.

On the notifications, if your e-mail provider has a spam filter, it is probably deleting all automated e-mails like the notifications from this site. You could try adding virtualdr.com to the white list to see if that lets the notifications through.

I'd try Geek Uninstaller in Force Removal mode. That'll remove all traces. http://www.geekuninstaller.com/download

Darn, i thought that Geek would help but i get the same error message "this action can only be completed on installed program", which means that even though AnyMeeting 3.0.1 is listed in the programs, it is not installed.

Did you thoroughly clean up the Registry?

I was gong to come back to ask how i can find everything in the registry? I am not sure where anything related to AnyMeeting is saved or located. Any suggestion?

Type REGEDIT in the run box. On the screen that comes up select EDIT, choose FIND, in the FIND WHAT box type ANYMEETING. Get rid of every item it finds. Use the FIND NEXT button to keep fiding the next entry. If you'd like more information there are articles and tutorials on Google and videos on YouTube.

The mystery is still not solved.

I uninstalled the version that was installed. I cleared everything related to AnyMeeting in REGEDIT on both accounts (the cooperating one and the misbehaving one). So nothing was on the computer anymore, apparently.

On the regular account, i tried installing the AnyMeeting 3.5.0, but as before, it stalled and never completed the installation.
On the cooperating account, i installed AnyMeeting 3.5.0 without any issue.

Going back to the initial account, since i had shared the folder before, i was able to run the exe file, but it still showed the 3.0.1 version.

So all in all, i am back to square one, despite all those steps taken.

If you are still seeing the 3.0.1 version on the problem account, then there are only 2 possibilities:

1. You have not found and eradicated the .exe file for the 3.0.1 version. Perform the steps I posted previously to find out where it is hiding.

2. Both versions are actually the same .exe file, but you are getting different version numbers and an offer to upgrade based on a registry entry or file somewhere. This possibility is extremely unlikely however, as there would be little point in the software developer doing this unless you need different features for different reasons, and even then it would not be the correct way to achieve this result.

I did run the autorun, and on the "problem account", AnyMeeting does not even show up, so there is no path to it. On the "cooperating account" it shows that it is in the appdata\roaming\microsoft\installer\......exe. And this is after deleting, uninstalling and removing everything in REGEDIT too.

I am stumped.

That path is different than the one you previously posted. Try using the search program at the link below to search for AnyMeeting.exe on both accounts. It should show all instances, unlike the Microsoft built-in Search function, which only looks in places Microsoft wants to search and only shows results Microsoft wants you to see.

I ended up having the technician from AnyMeeting install manually (that is what he said) the app on both my computers (yes, the same thing was on my desktop and laptop). In the end, i got the app working. I was able to start a meeting normally, as expected. But when i needed to do screensharing, it blocked me and asked me to install the app (which had to be installed in order to start the meeting and get to the point of asking to share my screen).

More mystery. Still waiting on them now as they asked me to uninstall it and reinstall a fresh copy yet i can't uninstall it as it does not show as installed. Weird!
