Even Autologon didn't work? You mean the XP OS password, right? What else did you install besides qbasic and Office? If you installed .NET, that can interfere with the XP login.
It's not the NIC address. I said "In the VM properties, check the network adapter. Change it from Shared (NAT) to your actual NIC." You want to set the VM to use a NIC so that it gets its own IP on the network like a regular client system. You shouldn't be getting IPv6 addresses from ping.Quote:
