possible fix...
check your refresh rate... right click on an empty area of your desktop, select properties, when the box comes up select settings, then select the advanced tab, when the new box comes up select the monitor tab, and change your refresh rate to the highest available this may help if not then post back and let us know...

dont you mean nvidia and ati me personally no matter what you need it for nvidia is the best especially the new 6800's but if you dont want to spend a paycheck a 5700le with 256 mb of ram can be had for about 100 bucks or so look around as not all dealers are the same nor are all manufacturers i would stay with BFG, Chaintech, Gigabyte, or XFX as i've had the most luck with those maufacturers...

Video Card for P3 system
Hi,
Pls could someone tell me if the GeForce 5700 graphics card will be ok to put into my neighbors pc which is as follows:
P3, 900Mhz
256Mb Ram
40Gb Hdd
Win 2000 Pro
Not sure if the mobo is a Soyo or an Asus.
Used primarily as a business pc (using Sage & other accounts packages) the daughter wants to run The Sims games & has been told by a friend at school that it would need a newer graphics card which she then bought with her Xmas money.
If you need any more info I won't be able to post back until tomorrow, but thanks in advance....

Quick question:
What would be the best PCI video card you could get at a $100-$200 price range?
And would they be able to run games like Doom 3 or Far Cry?
-
Just a quick search on Newegg.com and I found several different cards that would meet your needs. I'd recommend the Radeon 9200 256Mb, and yes, depending on the rest of your computer specs (CPU and RAM) you could run Doom 3 and Far Cry with it.

just get the ati 9600 its the best bang for your buck

Here is a useful article to help choose the right graphics card for your needs:

Alternatively, this thread will tell you which card/s gives you the best bang for your bucks.

Hi just my 2 cents worth here when we kited out the gaming center a majority of the pc's had inno3d cards in them and we did not have any problems atall
all games ran fine at max we used the 5700 le card got a bulk price of £45 hehe
at the time the le was generaly seling for £70 + not a huge amount for a graphics card but they pretty powerfull beasties and handle most things
im going to have to upgrade soon though as i dont think battlefiled 2 will run well enough even on that. ah well thats the price us gammers must pay

Hi, I currently have an intergrated video card. I want to get a new video card, but what's the difference between a PCI and an APG card? Also, can anyone recommend a good video card for gaming that costs around $100?

recently had to do a good gamer's rig, and selected an asus mobo, what had dual pci-e SLI capability with that bridge thinghy floating in that carton...
the guy had decided on ONE 6600GT card.
I wonder what sli coupled TWINS do.
