I payed $5 more for my 128MB chip on the local market. But, as the new computers being delivered have a different type of ram in them, I expect the prices will fall a little more in January, but not by to much.
I could be wrong there though. But do not think so.
bistro, gave some good advice about buying pairs. Got's to keep the mochine running https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

We were going to leave tomorrow; but the wife isn't quite up to it yet--probably Saturday. Yeah, some folks run right out and get it all in one stick--then if it goes south, oops.... http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/s/cwm/crap.gif

Oh ! Glad you said that bistro. I'd have bought mine all in one. So if they have a "special" on 128MB of RAM you can ask for it in two 64"s ? Or be sure you aren't getting one 128 in the deal ?
Evening https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

Yes, that is true.
2 X 64 = 128
Me, I figure on going and getting the match for my 1 ea 128 after the 7th of Jan.
But, I still have my 64 for backup.
bistro, Here is one for the mrs. feeling up to the trip.
Hope it is not a tedious one. Nor to great a distance. Mine always seemed to be from like ft Bragg to the Tillamook, Oregon area.
just in case www.oregoncoast.com

QoH: You are better off with the two 64's than with one 128. If you see a "special" on a 128 stick, then it's referring to just that stick; doubt if the vendor will give you the same deal for two 64's (but you never know--wouldn't hurt to ask).
Train: yeah, she's a "trooper". lots of experience with those long, cross-country PCS's.
Hey, too lazy to check back in the threads, but here's a couple of good sites for that Abit board and S500 case if you don't have them bookmarked already--decent prices:
Abit BX 133-RAID
InWin S500

Not sure what you mean by the USB "chip".

Morning all,
I got a few loose ends here to tie up. Must be something I have forgotten to do. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ Surely I am not finished this early.
-
I agree. Not this early. You might watch the papers. Some some interesting things on sale in the Metro Plex. ie; 56k PCI Internal modem for 20 - rebate 20 - cost 0. Might even call to see about what we want.
Where's Mosaic?

sdtech, back on 12/12/00 in one of your posts in OpDe 3, you said to get a good quality burner and to match it with a good CD-ROM. In your opinion, what is a good combination?

Hmmmm... they may not be too forthcoming to tell you who the supplier of their USB chip is. Could be Intel, CMD, whoever. Lots of manufacturers out there. My bet is Intel--it's their chipset on board.

bistro, sounding better all the time.
Hope traffic is better there than we had here today. Wife finally found out what I ment by bad traffic. Reminded me of Boston during rush hour. It is call a parking lot by us who have driven there.

Traffic? In Wash.,D.C? That would imply the cars actually move during rush hour...so, no...we don't have traffic. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ Let's just say the traffic here flows about as quickly and smoothly as a Congress would when drafting a tax cut bill...
