good morning
Q_O_H
Yes, the dropping of prices is nice, and Reading the spec's on a new computer and it has ddr-600 ram and that means there is a surlus of our type as Compaq has switched. Still their ram is 238 verses our 70

I have noticed, while checking the local store ads, both published verses on line, A difference of $15 and that I conclude that is to cover shipping and handling cost for most of them. And the cheaper ones add shipping and handling. Just my observation so far. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

The ice storm continues. Prices on components seem to be slipping futher. Perhaps Jan. and Feb. will be good buy times in fact. Looks quiet tonight.
Chr15, you are finding better prices. Keep looking. You should have typed this [url=, no bracket at the beginning of your link.
Train, WD 30GB 7200 HD for $139 and WD 20GB 5400 HD for $99. 128SDRAM for $89.
QoH, who has the tool kit you got?
Bistro get the dust off and new paint on?

Morning,
greengoose,
Keep that stuff up there, please. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
Train,
I'm still watching prices. I imagine they'll drop even more after the first, too.
-
Seems like a bunch of them got goodies for christmas and are yelling for HELP.
And someone was worried that vdr would run out of business. Not with the good folks here. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
Am a watchin' also.

I am trying to surface from all the links Train has put on different posts. QoH, he is bent on keeping us loaded up with stuff to learn. Trying to make us say uncle, I'm sure.
Heard from Bistro anyone? Later.
-
A lot to learn and a short time to get there https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
A lot of choices and which ones to make, don't know about you, but I do believe I am enjoying it.
bistro have not seen any post since the other night. Hope it did not flop on him.
No, his time is taken up, visiting and such. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

This is better than the Stock Market boys. I'm having fun too. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
I'm so glad I have had to wait otherwise, I would have already done it, and been kicking myself like Mosaic said.

Aaah, Queen of Hearts, you haven't heard then. Mosaic has been assimilated by Chucky. I fear the battle still rages.
Also, remember this; posted 11-22-2000 10:19 PM

I hope this doesn/t sound idiotic, but........
May I ask where I might begin if I did decide to "build my own".
....sounds like a pretty big deal.
How much saavy would I need.
I keep hearing build your own but I'm not sure how it's done, so I'm not sure whether it's even attemptable.
Ya just start with a box to put it all in and start picking the best pieces for it's guts and putting them in the right slots?
Do all the pieces come with instructions, just like when you install a sound card (or whatever)? Do CD players just plug in or do they have to be wired ?
I've put in a few pieces and I'm sure that's not all there is to it, is it ?
Would I need any special tools ?
You guys work with them all the time, but, can I do this ?
Heh, Heh https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ proof that you in fact started this, ahh, adventure if you will for us. Where did you get your tool box?
Haven't seen a sign of Train who delights in, and I have to say it again, information overload.
