Yeh, tried that, too, but the same result. I've been using ctrl x and ctrl v for so long. It's just not working. Baffled.
Are you sure you don't have to hit the Fn key first?

Adobe reader - I use PDFXchange viewer a lot lighter on the system.
HP update - after 3 months of ownership that can go.
J2SE is out of date I believe and needs to be updated or uninstalled
HP wireless, replace with Windows wireless, then uninstall
If you switch to the VLC media player, you can get rid of Quicktime.
Unless you really use the Apple/Itunes stuff, I dump it too.
Just my thoughts as I hate these memory hogs
