Yes. Leave it alone.
Windows Defender is totally useless so it's better when it's off.

Oh good to know.
I'll be testing the computer tonight a lot and should be able to let you know how it runs.
Question: can you summarize what WAS the issue?
Did the OTL create a restore point already? (i didn't see anything that *I* could recognize as a command for a restore point).
Yes it did.
I didn't see anything super serious but we cleaned a lot of garbage.
Keep me posted.
First observation: i cannot read my emails using Windows Live Mail anymore. It can download the messages so i see them in the list, but it does not display in the display pane (as it did before) but i get the turning icon. If i open the message, i get a blank page with the turning icon. If i try to reply to the messsage, i get the blank page with the turning icon.
I tried to restart WLM a couple of times with no change. I rebooted the computer and restarted the WLM, with no change. Now, i am stuck!
Download Windows Repair (All in One) from this site
Install the program then run it.
NOTE 1. In Windows Vista, 7 and 8 right click on the program, click "Run As Administrator".
NOTE 2. Disable your antivirus program before running Windows Repair.
Go to Step 2 and allow it to run CheckDisk by clicking on Do It button:
https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
Once that is done then go to Step 3 and allow it to run System File Check by clicking on Do It button:

Go to Step 4 and under "System Restore" click on Create button:

Go to Start Repairs tab and click Start button.
Leave all checkmarks as they're.
NOTE for Windows 8 users. Reset Registry Permissions is NOT checked by design.
Click on Start button.

Post Windows Repair log (_windows_repair_log.txt) which is located in the following folder:
64-bit systems - C:\Program Files (x86)\Tweaking.com\Windows Repair (All in One)\Logs
32-bit systems - C:\Program Files\Tweaking.com\Windows Repair (All in One)\Logs
Ouch.... big job.... on my way!
Ok got that Repair done and i have more problems now. At reboot i get an error message related to UsbVaccine not being able to create a notification shell (or something like that; i cannot read it now).
Then, i get another error message window saying that the tablet drive is not running. The tablet is my only input device so that is getting me stuck in another place. I tried rebooting but i am getting the exact same two error windows.
Reinstall Panda USB Vaccine: http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeuse...ds/usbvaccine/
What is the exact message?Quote:

I'm not sure what tablet drive is.
The tablet is my graphic tablet. What i use instead of a mouse on my desktop. So i dont have my input device. And the message was exactly that "The tablet driver is not running". (typo.. drive = driver)
I'm not familiar with this type of setting.Quote:

You may need to ask in a different forum.
Can you attach regular mouse to see how computer is doing?
I attached an external mouse and it was useable to reinstall Panda Vaccine. I rebooted. Now the tablet works fine, but i still cannot display any email in WLM.
How is computer doing overall?
It is working ok so far, but i have not used it heavily yet (just came back from work now). I am sure i will update this thread if i find something else, but for now, the email problem is major for me.
In this forum, we make sure, your computer is free of malware and your computer is clean :)
Because the access to malware forum is very limited, your best option is to create new topic about your current issue, at Windows section.
You'll get more attention.
Good luck there :)
Thanks. I'll do that.
