Thank you very much for that link poppy. I have read several stories/reports about this incident/accident but none have even hinted at what this writing addresses. What an eye opener--the local sheriff, nor any of his people were allowed on the property until the next day. That smacks of what, I don't know. Cover up/clean up/cover up
You're Welcome buf....:)
I felt somewhat the same.
It was hard for me to conceive of any other reason that the local law agents wouldn't have descended on an area that the Veep was within 'spitting' distance of a shooting, other than 'cover-up'.....and for being drunk is as good a reason as there is...Unfortunately our elected officials are 'human', and he's not the first to drink.......it's more embarrasing than anything else, for him and the country...
Well, I also thought about Chappaquiddick. Cheney took what 3-4 days before he surfaced with "his" story. Teddy took time (how much I don't recall) before he arrived with "his" story. Suppose the shooting had gone the other way--the VP being shot. Don't you just know that nothing would have kept the calvary outta there. Don't see how the Kenedy County Sheriff can remain sheriff!!!!
Looks to me like they had to sober Dick up before they put him in front of the cameras. If a hunter gets shot in New York State people go to jail.
