This is beginning to look like those long Academy Awards "thank-you's"... https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
Had a lot of fun on this thread, but I suppose it was time to gracefully retire. A big thank-you to greengoose1; the originator--helped to make it a fun ride.
Goose. Thanks for all the info in these threads. Gonna miss them though....
Max, got an Idea. Take a stick of Ram, put it in the Emachine and bootup, see if it will do anything at all...
Atleast we could fill this Delta thread up with Info, before shutting it down, Couldn't we???

Dodge,
Thanks for the suggestion, but I tried that awhile back. I have three sticks of RAM 32MB,64MB and 128MB. I tried each of them in the emachine and in different slots. Each is a different manufacturer, too. Still getting the wrong BIOS beep codes and no display. Looking to dig into it in a couple weeks.
Also, thanks for the Deltas guys, it was fun and educational. My prediction is that it will return in some form in the future. You mad scientists will be elbows deep in a new building project soon I'm sure. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

Well, I’m back. It would seem that maybe we’re going to keep this going due to the response we’ve seen. I just can’t stand a calls at 6:38am on a Saturday morning. Actually e mailing me about Operation Delta. To look at something which follows and was in the weekly email:

Now that we have gotten through all that stuff, this is what we will try. We will deal with a subject a week on building a computer. Should a week not be long enough for anyone subject, we will extend the time for it. Conversely we will shorten the time frame for a subject if need be.
Now if someone wants to build a computer from scratch, we will change over and help build a computer. Then go back to where we left off on weekly subjects. Although we cannot help more than one person at a time, anyone else wanting to build could come along at the same time and build their own following the guidelines given. Individual questions asked by either a new member or an old hand would be handled as before.
An important point to remember is we will maintain our flexibility.
The most important thing anyone reading this should remember is that we are here for you and that no question is a dumb question. Especially new people to this subject, why? Because you are just getting started maybe and have a lot of questions that need answers. There is no such thing as a dumb question if you don’t know the answer.
In my own case, I came to VirtualDr needing help. My computer just barely got me here. Now it’s running smoother than it ever has. I asked questions. And did I get answers. You know what I have learned? Just how much I don’t know. I am still learning.
Train, Bistro, Her Most Eminent Charming Witty Gracious – oh balderdash – The Queen of Hearts, and a whole lot of others will be here. Let’s see, and I always hate to do this, JTDoom, Snarfll, Kallikru, DrMDJ, Dodge, maxxmillian, jerrycttech, Goldust, Mosaic, Theoran, TrishA, ‘cause I can’t remember everyone off the top of my head that’s helped in the past. But you know who you are.
If, anyone as we go along has got suggestions on how to improve what we are doing, by all means make it known. We want to make Operation Delta the best it can be and Virdr the best on the net.

GG1,
Sounds like something that might be workable. It will surely undergo some refinement as things go along, but that's natural.
So what's the thoughts on the first topic???
