Ahh, the Cramps... I was the house sound engineer at a club in Ottawa (Beacon Arms) in 1980 when they played there. Quite a show. Psychcobilly over the top, frothy, sweaty, hi energy and f#!##!g great!

Here's my story...and I'm sticking to it !!!
When I was in the good old U.S. Navy way back in '71-75, I was in VAQ-33, an electronics warfare squadron out of N.A.S. Norfolk, Va. I was trained to be an aviation electrician and wound up becoming a "plane captain" for the ERA-3B Skyraider aircraft. That is the equivalent of a crew chief in the Air Force. The A-3's had a real personality...like some of the old classic cars...I really got attached to my particular plane and took my job very seriously...which was good because the plane had a crew of at least four...sometimes 6 people. The nick name for the plane was the "Whale", and quite often when you see film clips of planes crashing while trying to land on a carrier the "whale" made one hell of a crash!! I wish that I had stayed in the Navy...I would be retired by now...still rather young (50)..a good pension...still plenty of time to do other things and not having to worry so much about the next paycheck !! Oh well...Life goes on..!! Steve

I used to love the band KoRn - and a name of one of their songs is Freak On A Leash, I changed the spelling of Freak to PHreak and added Woman.
I used to use the nick Ga. Peach when in chatrooms, but soon found out, that about a million other people also use it and I wanted to be different and not like everyone else.

Life is what happens to you when you're busy making other plans.
Easy, I used to breed snakes. At one time, I had a full 3 bedroom house filled with snake tanks.
I got mine from a cracking group, duno y they made the name "Psiber" but it is https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

My name is obvious.
I am a high tech piece of equipment which most humanoids are too daft to operate properly, thus needing sites like this to fix what they did to me and others like me. I have been running (most of the time) for nearly 3 years now (bought Oct.98), and that Ghouldini clown has banished me to a dusty cabinet table. I just know they will run DOS games on me from now on. That's loyalty for you. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

My own original cluster-f*ck.
As best I can explain it, there once were chat rooms in TheGlobe.com that My wife and I frequented. Her Nickname was Country26....she liked country music.
I was 3CDMan...the man part is easily figured out...but what about the 3CD part? Well it's like this sexual inuendo I came up with: How long is a normal compact disk play for? Let's say anywhere from 55 to 75 minutes...put three of them together and that was my "how-long-I-could-keep-it-going" time in bed. (Laugh if you must https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ ...but you will never know if it's true or not)
So to summarize.... my 3CD for Country26 (C26, for short...my wife) and there you have it:
3CD-4C26 (three CD for country 26)

I used to be a science & maths teacher for many years, and the place where I taught for the longest time - 14 years - was a TAFE (Technical And Further Education) College (not sure of the US equivalent). I was the first female teacher they had had in the science department. I think some of the guys started calling me Eggles (the first two syllables of my family name) to make me feel more like 'one of the guys'? Not sure. They all called each other by their last name, or an abbreviation of it. So I have been known as Eggles to a lot of my friends since the late 70s.
As it was a name I was familiar with and it sorta stuck, once I worked out it probably wasn't a good idea to use my real name, (which I did on the very first discussion board I ever joined - but only for a brief period). My password is one of the nicknames the family uses for our younger cat.
I use the same username and pasword at well over a dozen discussion forums.

Any Phish fans here?
Because 'Tequila' seemed too strong and 'Margarita' sounds too girly.

Something to do with music which my other half came up with. also it doesn't give away any personal information and reduces the need for my other half and I to have separate 'identities' on the net hence reducing username and password problems. also, so far, it has not been used by anyone else on the net. we have a similar email address as well..

Funny you brought this thread up Sting, You're name always reminds me of the character Stingmon in "Digimon"
Tried to ignore this post long enough. Guess "no imagination" is a legitimate excuse for using my first and second names!!!

was bored one day and looking for a new, non gender specific nickname (im female). had an old 15" magnavox monitor and some cheap labtec speakers, thus "magtec lab navox" was born.
yep, im a geek who lacks imagination https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
i usually just use magtec, but one of my old accounts doesnt work anymore so now its magtecln.
i also frequently use alliya, which is short for "amaralliya eponine thenardier". alliya came from a study of the middle-east, amar came from the amaryllis flower (which was originally the name of a character in a book). eponine thenardier is the name of a characer in victor hugo's les miserables.
id name myself after my car, but "87LebaronGTS" isnt very impressive https://discussions.virtualdr.com/ maybe i could be "1.4TBird" or "AthlonBaby!"

all my cookeies say anyuser@"some domain.com"
i do not like cookies with my real name on em because advertisers try to track and identify people as much as possible for targeting with advertising so let them try to track "anyuser"...
i think more people should use names that do not identify themselfs especially i reccomend not using real names...
Magtecln,
93 Vw Eurovan is even less impressive. The sad thing is in real life it's not as good as it sounds. You know, rust spots and missing body parts....and that's just me, you should see the car!

Misery Who???
When I got my first car I got custom number plates (vanity plates in the U.S.).
Here in the Australian state of New South Wales wer were limited to 6 Character / Number combination.
Since my name is Nick an it was my car i decided upon NIXCAR.
At the time I got them, one of my girlfriends friends always used to say "hi Nix" and over the years it has sort of stuck.
I no longer have the plates and married a different girl, but Nix has stuck around.

My last name is pronounced dd and I wish the 43 was my age but more like the year I was born.
How about inventive email names, the first part of my home one is benickaz because my son is Ben, I am Nick and my wife is Karen (or Kaz).
Handily our names all blend into one for our email.
As somone said to us when we first set it up, your next child will have to have a name ending in B or starting with Z.
We were actually thinking Zak for a boy if/when it happens, so that would be handy too.
Howdy folks!
Since I have enjoyed writing hundreds of limericks through the years, I decided to use Limerick in here. Uh, oh! I feel a "limerick attack" coming on! https://discussions.virtualdr.com/
A fellow named "Sting" once started a thread,
Regarding the "handle" of all who "dropped in", and read!
Each one then shared,
And a few even dared,
To give us the meaning, then signed off, and fled!
Yes, I know that it's a corny as forty acres in central Iowa, but just couldn't resist!
Happy computing! https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

Some of the good things in life are free! :) Cable Internet isn't one of them!!
Good ol' Object Linking and Embedding. I received this error more often than any other in Windows 95, so I took it as a sign. It has served me as an online moniker for a while, now.
1) From the song Badbrain by the Ramones
2) For the band, the badbrains, who took their name from the Ramones song and who made some of the best American punkrock ever.
3) Because when I first started coming here (well the win95 forum) I didn't know S**t from shinola when it came to PCs. I have a feeling my early questions were pretty dumb.
I was originally BadBrain. But I became BadBrain1 when I lost/forgot my password and had to set up a new account. Which makes it an even more appropriate nickname.
