I would prefer reading one of his posts rather than this sad news. I missed him long ago and will miss him in the days to come. So long Trooper and sharer of jokes and wisdom.

:(
I have a million words in my head and yet none of them seem to fit. You will be missed.
Wanted to include this in post #31 but couldn't readily find it:
The clock of life is wound but once,
And no man has the power,
To know just when the clock will stop,
At late or early hour.
So live your life, as best you can
Love. work, serve with a will.
Place no faith in tomorrow,
For the clock may then be still
I strongly suspect poppy4 did just that!!!
Poppy 4, you are gone but will never be forgotten as has been evidenced by the number posts here.
My toes still curl when I remember a vitriolic post made by Spy1 attacking Poppy about 5 years ago (my first encounter with poppy 4) but Poppy's fine heart and spirit forgave him.
Sleep well poppy 4, you have earned your rest.
My sympathies and condolances go out to Poppy's family and friends.
Rest In Peace Poppy 4
Sad news. Condolences to everyone affected by his passing.
My encounters with Poppy 4 were few ..... but already my heart is heavy and my day a little darker. May you rest in peace and be in the comfort of a true and greater power. I will miss your warm and friendly advice and your gentle sense of humour !
Hello -
For those who knew my Dad, Poppy4, I wanted to post some news. Earlier this month he was inducted into the Radio and Television Broadcasters Hall of Fame of Ohio. It was an incredible evening for us all. Here is the link to check it out -

Also, a book was just released that was written by the old program director at WMMS where my Dad was a DJ for 30+ years. The opening of the book among other areas talks about him. I have enclosed a link to the WKSU page that talks about the book and has some voice ID's (All of the station ID's are him) as well as a picture of him with a tshirt on that says Spoiled Rotten from back in the early 70's.

You all were such a huge part of his life. He loved being techy and having a forum of peers to join in with - IT was my profession until recently and it was something we both enjoyed discussing together. (I think he loved it that there were things he knew that I didn't.) Once he retired the forum became that much more to him - You were his family and I am grateful for you all. I was so sad to give the news about his passing and yet so grateful the get the call and to be able to let you all know. We were worried about you guys not hearing from him and just did not want to post it on the site.
Thanks to all of you for your postings here and well wishes in the online legacy book for him.

It's always sad to see a valuable member gone (but not forgotten).
NICE to see a Tribute to his life achievements.
Very generous and God Bless to you and yours!

Welcome to the forum that poppy4 helped to make successful in such a short while he was with us. Join in anytime and please feel at home. He will be missed and began to be missed long ago; like 10 months. It is good that 2 generations of Goldbergs have spend time with us.
