todd. i believe wmp 10 is for xp only i remember you had me should work if you have gotten xp
ok, what duane said he beat me to it.
Microsoft is now going to host their own music downloads. They are aiming at Apple. http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/p...taLaunchPR.asp
Well I am unimpressed. The only kind of files you can rip and burn to is wma. So guess I just have a humongous Player, and will have to rip and burn with something else. And they have changed around the options positions just enough to be irritating. And I just uninstalled it, because I was getting a very faint motor boating sound. Don't get it with MP9 or Real Player. Had to use System Restore to get back to MP9.
Another silly question:
What the use of the " start sync" button, on the left side of the " start burnt"?
I believe that is for syncing music with protable devices, i.e MP3 player, etc.
Right. Syncing is for portable devices.
I haven't used the features, but this is from the Help file.
"When a Now Playing list is displayed in the List pane, the Start Sync button and the Start Burn button are displayed at the bottom of the pane so that you can quickly synchronize the items in the list to your portable device or burn the items in the list to a CD."
" When a Sync list is displayed in the List pane, the Start Sync button is displayed at the bottom of the pane so that you can quickly synchronize the items in the list to your portable device; when a Burn list is displayed in the List pane, the Start Burn button is displayed at the bottom of the pane so that you can quickly burn the items in the list to a CD."
Thanks! Duane.
Thanks! Hong.
I still have a lot to learn from WMP.:(
Had no difficulties to install WMP 10.
However, after completing a download, clicking on "Open Folder" does not work anymore. I did a rollback to WMP 9 where it did function, and now it doesn't function there either. The other option "Open" does work but is not useful in most cases.
OH good stuff nice information thanks
DesertFoX
Instead of doing a 'rollback', have you tried system restore?
Hey, I noticed something that has happened since WMP10 which is pretty neat.
I can now rename and move files whilst a song is playing, without getting the 'File is in use' message.
Anyone notice this?
Hong
Here is the URL I used to download WMP 10:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...layer/download
Notice the extra switch just before "player". Also, as noted, it only works with the XP os.
When this link saved into the thread it didn't print as I typed it up but I tried it and it does run correctly as posted ???
any one know for sure that WMP 10 is strictly for XP only?
haven't found any links saying otherwise., NBut when I try and reinstall 10 on top of 9 the download only gives myself the 9 version.
???
Yes, it's official.
Here are the system requirements from Microsoft's 'Read Me' for WMP10.
