Hope it helps. Sometimes I forget that I even have that thing installed. Tells me way more than I ever wanted to know about what is installed. Hardware and software. https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

I only remembered it when Jonette was looking to upgrade in another post. She needed to know the board as well. She already had it installed and had forgotten about it too. Looks like we all need a memory upgrade...hehe https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

Hi all. Well got my second HD back from the shop. Not new, second hand, no literature, but it has been tested for me, so I know that it works. Put it as slave to c: as thats what the man in the shop said.
However when I turned the PC on, I got this message;
PRI MASTER HDD ERROR
SEC. SLAVE DRIVE ATAPI INCOMPATIBLE
RUN SETUP
Press F1 to continue.
I tried turning it off, then turned the ribbon around. OK this time, I didn't get that message, it booted fine. However, no new HD was found. Shut down and went to SETUP.
Went to AUTO-DETECT HARD DRIVES.
Nothing found.
Any suggestions?

Every cloud has a silver lining. Cloudman :)
Just a thought...
Could there be no power in the plug at the back that I plugged into it?
Or could there be not enough power?
And if so, how can I remedy that?

Bet you know more about that thing than you everthought you needed to know.
Belarc laid it out for you, right.

Put it as slave to c:
I assume you mean slave on the c drive ribbon? Is this correct, you want it as you D drive?
Personnely, I disconnect my C drive,
I would fdisk it, partition it if over 8GB, format it, plug the c drive back in, boot ,go into Bios set for auto detect, save and exit. and try to boot up.
And for faster disk to disk writing I would make it the slave on the other ribbon.

My c drive is 3gb, my second hd is only 130mb. I've since been speaking to a friend who says the jumpers could be set wrong. Well could they? Would they cause the probs?
